Building Self-Regard, Avoiding Self-Doubt & Imposter Phenomenon: An ICoP Community Meeting

In a university setting, where one is surrounded by so many talented and smart individuals, it can be a challenge to feel like one truly belongs. This panel, facilitated by Jason Lagapa, one of the Professional Development Leads for the CTL, will discuss building self-regard and self-confidence and mitigating feelings of being an imposter or fraud. Participants will aim to identify damaging self-conceptions and their sources and craft strategies that bolster assuredness and self-esteem.

Inclusive Community of Practice (ICoP) meetings connect equity-minded folks around campus to develop inclusive practices and policies in the classroom through sharing and curation of existing and collaboratively innovated knowledge. Weekly 75-minute meetings provide opportunities where faculty, staff and students gather to network and talk openly about diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. These conversations are meant to be brave spaces where faculty, staff and students can work on developing inclusive practices for the classroom.
