When
The IDEA Council is a representative body comprised of student, staff and faculty charged with prioritizing the recommendations in the CU Boulder Inclusion, Diversity and Excellence in Academics (IDEA) Plan. This 26-member council is focused on diversity, equity and inclusion goals such as recruitment and retention, data collection to inform and prioritize institutional strategies, and networking sessions to share effective practices. In this session, Lisa Flores and Teresa Hernandez (IDEA Council co-leaders) will share their ideas about connecting the IDEA Plan to the classroom, allowing participants to engage with important campus goals.
Inclusive Community of Practice (ICoP) meetings connect equity-minded folks around campus to develop inclusive practices and policies in the classroom through sharing and curation of existing and collaboratively innovated knowledge. Weekly 75-minute meetings provide opportunities where faculty, staff and students gather to network and talk openly about diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. These conversations are meant to be brave spaces where faculty, staff and students can work on developing inclusive practices for the classroom.
