The Media and Climate Change Observatory (MeCCO) was founded at the University of Oxford in 2006, but was moved to CU Boulder when Max Boykoff joined the faculty in 2009. MeCCO has grown to become a network of two dozen collaborators across ten institutions who monitor 125 sources (television, newspapers and radio) monthly in 58 countries, 13 languages, organized into seven different regions around the world.

This 2-hour workshop will serve as an introduction to statistics in R and is the third of a multi-part R workshop series. We will learn how to implement commonly used statistical functions including regression, t-tests, and ANOVA. WE will also cover how to correctly analyze and interpret the results of thee powerful statistical tools.
Prerequisites: Minimal coding experience preferred, but open to all levels. Please have R, RStudio, and the tidyverse package installed on a personal laptop.

_Minimal Computing_ is a philosophical and technical approach for building and sharing digital projects, bringing together various skills and tools to empower everyday people to develop their own digital archives, collections, and exhibitions. In this session, we'll introduce Minimal Computing concepts and tools, like Lib-Static, CollectionBuilder, Oral History (As) Data, and Wax, as well as explore a few example projects. You'll leave with with familiarity of a sustainable, flexible, open framework to incorporate into your digital scholarship and teaching toolkits.

Enacting Climate is an online collection of climate-related tools and activities for student learning and climate action. It not only provides an accessible adaptation of Project Drawdown’s top climate solutions, but activities for facilitating creative and fun student engagement and action on behalf of climate justice. This open access platform was co-created with students for students to honor youth knowledge and ensure the communication is accessible and engaging.

In this session we will covers some of the most popular and effective GPU accelerated libraries that give high performance without the requirement of writing your own custom GPU code. We will cover CUDA-X which has libraries for math, image/video processing, deep learning, and GPU tailored partner libraries. On top of CUDA-X we will cover RAPIDS which will target data science and data analytics workloads. We will conclude the session with interactive coverage of NVIDIAs profiling tools.
