Part 1 of this series will discuss the fundamentals of Linux and bash scripting. Topics will include Linux commands, navigation of a Linux file-system, the Linux environment, creation of bash scripts, and more!"

If you’re curious about the world of Free and Open Source GIS Software, it’s time to give QGIS a try. QGIS is a premier GIS desktop software application that works on PC, Mac and Linux (not to mention Android!). In this workshop Earth, Environment and Geospatial Librarian Phil White will introduce the QGIS interface and guide you through common GIS procedures. Participants will need to install QGIS on their device prior to the workshop (to install, visit QGIS.org—it's free!). Contact Phil White if you need assistance installing the software.

You will learn how to log in, request allocations, store and transfer data (including Globus), load software, run a job and ask for help. This is an interactive seminar. To participate in the interactive portion, you must have an RC account already set up with Duo authentication.
